Queering the Image

This print viewing for students and educators presents a curated set of images exploring diverse identities within the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) community. The works address themes of youth, aging, identity, performance, and the pursuit of an authentic life. Students are encouraged to engage in discussions on how identity is perceived and depicted, and how photography can either represent or misrepresent those identities. The viewing also prompts critical thinking about the artists' choices in color, composition, point of view, and staging.
