About the ArtistSu Chang’s photography, sculpture, installation, and other multimedia projects examine the temporality and vulnerability of both the manmade and the natural in nondescript objects and places. HIs mixed-media installation Ruins includes a perfect copy of a particular building in Shanghai that was demolished. It represents one of the many buildings that are disappearing from the city’s older neighborhoods, razed to make room for the new city. Su Chang graduated from Shanghai Normal University’s Fine Arts College with a degree in oil painting (2003). His work has been exhibited extensively in China as well as internationally.
