About the ArtistAdam Schreiber’s series Anachronic is concerned with objects and the institutional archive. Shot in the Lyndon B. Johnson presidential archive and The Ransom Center archive, Schreiber’s seemingly disparate images explore objects’ material and historical significance. Schreiber states: “I’m interested in how a photograph can articulate a position between making and recording.” The photographs remove the objects from their institutional context, complicating and reformulating their significance.Adam Schreiber completed his MFA from the University of Texas at Austin (2007). Recent solo shows include Sasha Wolf Gallery, New York, New York (2010) Lawndale Art Center, Houston, Texas (2008). Recent group shows include: Austin Museum of Art, Austin, Texas (2011); Box 13, Houston, Texas (2010); and Art Palace, Austin, Texas (2009). In 2010, Schreiber participated in the Artpace International Artist-In-Residence program.
