About the ArtistJoanne Leonard uses collage, text, and mixed media to create candid representations of intimacy and womanhood. Working with themes including pregnancy, miscarriage, sexuality, motherhood, romance, and self-acceptance, Leonard provides a window into her physical and internal life while casting light on the larger absence of feminist narratives in art history. Her work is held in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA; and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, CA; among others.
