About the ArtistDiana Solis is a Chicago-based artist and educator who works in painting, photography, comics, public murals, and more to explore personal and collective histories of Mexican and Chicano culture. Solis created the prints that are in the Museum of Contemporary Photography collection in her neighborhood of Pilsen, showing moments of celebration, protest, and daily life in an area that has been home for a large population of Mexican American families since the 1960s.

Diana Solis holds a BFA in Photography from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has worked with the Chicago Park District and Museum of Contemporary Art as an artist-in-residence. Her work has been shown locally, nationally and globally in solo shows and group exhibitions alike including the Museo de Bellas Artes, Toluca, Mexico; Palacio de Gobierno, Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico; the Centre Civic Barceloneta, Barcelona, Spain; and in the Chicago area at Artemesia Gallery, ARC Gallery, the Aldo Castillo Gallery, the National Museum of Mexican Art, the Museum of Science and Industry, Noyes Cultural Art Center in Evanston, and Woman Made Gallery, among others.
