About the ArtistMarilyn Zimmerwoman is a feminist artist, activist, and educator. She earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and is Professor Emerita at the Department of Art and Art History and Artist in Residence at the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University in Detroit. Her works have been exhibited throughout the United States and abroad, and are collected in the Detroit Institute of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Public collections include Tate Modern, London; Corcoran Museum Library, Washington DC; National Coalition Against Censorship, NY; Institute of Research on Women and Gender, University of Michigan; Webster University, Vienna, Austria; Columbia University; and University of Leeds.
