About the ArtistBorn in Columbus, Ohio, Scott Groeniger completed a BA at Ohio State University, Columbus, (1992) and an MFA in Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1996). He is represented in The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 1995 Graduate and Faculty Portfolio, which comprises work by the participants in the graduate photography program in 1995. In his artwork, Groeniger uses photography, video, sound, and digital media to investigate environmental issues such as urban sprawl, visual propaganda, and aspects of the contemporary cultural landscape in the United States and China. Groeniger has taught at The University of Hawaii at Manoa since 2007, and has been the Chair of Printmedia since 2012.
