About the ArtistThese images were captured by the Mariner 10, a NASA operated probe launched in 1974. The probe photographed more than 7,000 images of Venus, Mercury, Earth, and the Moon, moving in incremental stages to create photomontages. The resulting images provide visual evidence of the expansiveness of space beyond our limited eyesight, while also demarking the limits of our fragmented knowledge of the cosmos.
