About the ArtistBorn in Tallinn, Estonia, Peeter Laurits studied photography at the Tallinn 2nd Technical School (1982-83) and later at the International Center of Photography in New York (1991-92). An active artist since the 1980s, he came to be one of Estonia's leading photographers in the 80s and 90s. During the latter decade, he was the co-founder of the group DeStudio, which gained attention in Estonia and abroad for work that incorporated images from mass media sources.
