BiographyIn the series Exercises in Solid Geometry, and other works in the 1980s, Reed Estabrook created photographic compositions out of various elements such as wood, concrete, shadows, or even the legs of his tripod. Verging on abstraction and skewing senses of scale and depth, the photographs create different interplays of geometry, color, and texture. Estabrook completed a BA at Rhode Island College (1969) and an MFA at the School of the Art Institute, Chicago (1971). He has taught at the University of Illinois, the University of Northern Iowa, the Kansas City Art Institute, and since 1984 at San Jose State University.
