BiographyArnold Gilbert was one of the six founding benefactors of the Museum of Contemporary Photography in 1984. An avid photographer himself, Gilbert was also a passionate collector of photography. In addition to his involvement with MoCP, Gilbert made substantial gifts to a number of other museums, including the Rockford Museum of Art in Rockford Illinois. His artwork is held in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago; the Krannert Museum, Urbana, IL; the Victoria and Albert Museum, UK; among others.
