BiographyBorn in Globe, Arizona, Paul Knotter completed a BFA at Arizona State University (1976) and an MFA at the University of California, Los Angeles (1979). The 20/20 portfolio, published in 1985 by UCLA, gathered the work of twenty photographers who had completed the graduate photography program within the last twenty years. Knotter was included along with Ellen Brooks, Gillian Brown, Jack Butler, Darryl Curran, Jo Ann Callis, Judy Coleman, Darryl J. Curran, William Doherty, Sidney Doniger, John Divola, Robbert Flick, Jeff Gates, Graham Howe, Victor Landweber, Kenneth McGowan, Philip Melnick, Patrick Nagatani, Karen O'Hearn, Pat O'Neill, Sheila Pinkel, Scott Rankin, Kenneth Shorr, and Elfie Wilkins-Nacht. Since that time, Knotter has gone on to work as an art director and in the field of media production. He is still active as an artist but has primarily turned to painting and drawing as his media of choice.
