BiographyJay LeFor uses photography to visualize sound dimensionality, as a series of quasi-scientific experiments that endow sound with a physical presence. Photographing liquid as it swirls, pulsates, and pops, stirred by a sound recording of his brain waves, LeFor probes the internal workings of the human body and the physical qualities of sound. His illustrations of sound waves are reminiscent of scientific experiments; they hint at the potential to measure human thought and emotion. Jay LeFor is a graduate of the Graduate School of Fine Arts at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana (2000).
