BiographyUsing analogue photographic materials and processes, Rachelle Bussières creates unique objects that sit at the intersection of photography, painting, and sculpture. Bussières begins by creating photographs of geological formations that reference early topographies. She then manipulates the analog prints in the darkroom, entering into a dialogue between synthetic photographic chemistry and the uncanny nature of organic materials. Bussières completed her MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco, CA (2015) and received honorable mention for the 2015 MoCP Snider prize.
