Bruce Patterson paints and collages over his original photographs of architectural structures and landscapes, playing with notions of photographic truth and representation. Patterson completed his BA in Art History from Haverford College (1973) and spent the following year in Europe studying painting. He completed his MA from the University of New Mexico (1976) and has been included in exhibitions at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY (1977, 1979) and the University Art Museum, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM (1978). His work is held in the collections on the International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House, Rochester, NY and the Washington Art Consortium, Bellingham, WA, among others.
