David Guttenfelder is a photojournalist focusing on geopolitical conflict, conservation, and culture. He is an eight-time World Press Photo Award Winner, seven-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, and recipient of numerous other awards. A photograph of his made in North Korea was named among TIME Magazine’s “100 Most Influential Photographs Ever Taken.” His work has been exhibited at the Annenberg Space for Photography, Los Angeles; Council on Foreign Relations, New York; El Valor del Momento, Havana, Cuba; Visa pour l’Image, Perpignan, France; Encuento International de Foto Periodismo, Spain; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; and the Brooklyn Museum. He graduated from the University of Iowa majoring in Journalism, Cultural Anthropology, and African Studies, and was named among the university’s Notable Alumni.
