BiographyAlexis Peskine’s photographs and films convey the wide array of experiences within the African Diaspora. Born in Paris, Peskine has an Afro-Brazilian and French-Russian Jewish heritage, which encourages his focus on the intricacies of identity, both from a personal and collective lens. In this series, Peskine ponders Black masculinity and coming of age through the rites of the Diola, a Senegalese ethnic group. Peskine a Fulbright Scholarship (2004) and has been included in numerous exhibitions worldwide. He was included in the 2018 Museum of Contemporary Photography exhibition, In Their Own Form.
