Dearth, Scout

Scout Dearth's project You are Here is about the way the human eye perceives space through stereoscopic vision. Dearth stitches together multiple images in familiar domestic spaces. The digital construction disorients the viewer as the expected rules of perspective are distorted. Small perspectival flaws draw attention to this manipulation and encourage the viewer to investigate the image further. Dearth recently graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. Her work has been exhibited at the Snap Space by the Kansas City Artist Coalition.
