In 1934, Jindřich Brok studied under the well-known Czech photographers, Jaromir Funke and Josef Ehm, whom he met at the State Graphic School in Prague. By 1949, Brok became the head of the photography department of Skloexport, a Czech glassware and crystal exporter. He began to publish his images of glassware in a variety of Czech photography books, which resulted in a collaboration with Glass Review, where he supplied images for nearly three decades. In 1962, Brok became a professor at the Secondary Technical School of Graphic Arts, where he taught glass photography. Brok was awarded the Medal of Excellence (1957) and the Gold Medal at the Brussels World Fair (1958). His works are in the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center and the George Eastman House database, among others. Brok has been exhibited at the Museum of Decorative Arts, Prague (2015) and Vintage Works, Ltd, Chalfont (2020).
