Ana Teresa Barboza studied painting at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (1999-2004), then worked as a fashion and costume designer for a decade following. She was inspired to learn a new medium after discovering a box of naturally dyed yarn while organizing her late mother’s room, sparking her enduring interest tradition and memory. Barboza has had solo exhibitions at Nunu Fine Art, New York; Wu Gallery, Lima; Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires; Museum of Contemporary Art, Lima; among others.
